With over 21 years at the helm of Feather & Lawry Design, Tess brings a deep understanding of how spaces shape our wellbeing. Her journey into design wasn’t conventional—after beginning a career in health, her travels through the UK and Europe ignited a love for art and architecture, inspiring a shift to interior design. Since then, she has been dedicated to creating spaces that foster a sense of belonging, inspiration, and wellness.
Tess has a particular affinity for designing in regional Australia, where vast interiors meet harsh yet breathtaking landscapes. She believes that great design should not only meet physical needs but also embrace sustainable living and respect for Country. Her work across remote and rural communities—from Gurley, NSW, to Barclay Homestead in the Northern Territory—has been driven by word-of-mouth recommendations, a testament to the impact of her designs.
For Tess, the most rewarding projects are those that transform existing buildings in a way that exceeds client expectations. She thrives on the process of regional travel, visiting sites to fully understand their potential and ensure that each space is eclectic, responsive, and functional. More than aesthetics, her focus is on the psychology of space—how a space feels, its heart and soul, and the lasting impression it leaves on those who experience it.

Emma has always been drawn to creativity, with a love for design that started in school and was sparked further by watching The Block—though she quickly discovered that real interior design is much more complex than reality TV suggests! Since joining Feather & Lawry in April 2022, she has been passionate about user-driven, functional and aesthetic design, creating spaces that are designed purposely for her clients that are not only beautiful but also deeply functional.
For Emma, designing is about understanding how people use their spaces and tailoring every detail to fit their needs. Her dream project would be designing her own family home in Toowoomba or its surrounds—just as she loves creating homes that enrich the lives of other families, she looks forward to one day crafting a space perfectly suited to her own.
One of her most memorable projects so far was her first major project after completing her degree. Seeing the design come to life from concept to completion was both rewarding and an invaluable learning experience, allowing her to blend academic knowledge with real-world practice. With strong attention to detail and problem solving, Emma brings a thoughtful and considered approach to every project she works on.

For Olivia, design has always been second nature. Growing up in a home filled with art, history, and creativity, she was surrounded by inspiration from an early age—whether it was sewing dresses and painting with her mother or exploring architectural landmarks with her father. These formative experiences shaped her deep love for design, leading her to pursue a career where she could bring spaces to life in meaningful ways.
If given the chance to design anything, Olivia would love to work on a country pub—a cornerstone of Australian community life. More than just a place to grab a drink, pubs in rural towns serve as gathering spaces where friendships form and stories unfold. Capturing that warm, welcoming spirit in a well-designed space would be a rewarding challenge.
Her first major project, the Cleveland Ag Office, holds special significance as it marked the transition from university studies to real-world practice. The experience of seeing a project come to life, from concept to completion, reinforced her passion for the industry and remains a milestone in her journey.
With a design style that is classic, colourful, and interesting, Olivia draws inspiration from unexpected places—including music, which played a key role in her creative process during university. She believes that great design, like great music, should evoke emotion, tell a story, and leave a lasting impression.

Now, with almost 10 years in the industry, he focuses on designing spaces that are practical, cohesive, and seamlessly connected to their surroundings.
His dream project? A fusion of history and modern Architecture in the UK—breathing new life into a historic stone building with a warm, light-filled extension that re-purposes the past for today’s needs. A marriage of respect for traditional charm, grounded in history and innovative design suitable for modern life is something he’s particularly passionate about.
With an outdoor-in approach to design, Lewis is always looking for ways to enhance connections with nature within built spaces. Through a combination of materials, light and layout, his work is centered on creating environments that enable people to enjoy both the space they are in and the environment that surrounds them.

Alina’s journey into architecture and design was a natural evolution, sparked by hands-on experience selecting materials, colours, and finishes for her father’s newly built home. Seeing how every detail contributed to the overall aesthetic and function of a space ignited a deep appreciation for thoughtful design and its ability to shape the way people live and interact.
Joining Feather & Lawry in early 2025, Alina is excited to dive into projects that blend minimalist, timeless, and cozy design principles. While she’s still new to the team, she looks forward to bringing fresh ideas and creativity to future projects.
If given the chance to design anywhere in the world, she would choose Palma de Mallorca, Spain—a place where Mediterranean beauty, rich history, and vibrant culture provide the perfect backdrop for pushing creative boundaries.
An unexpected influence in her design approach comes from fashion, where bold textures, colours, and shapes inspire her to think beyond traditional design structures. Just like fashion evolves, Alina believes interior design should be daring and innovative — honouring the past while creating something entirely new and impactful.
