An anchored stone garage forms a central refuge garden and court, protected from the south west winter winds and harsh summer afternoon sun. Tucked into the hill this north facing court and sanctuary delivers a refuge from the exposed harsh natural environment with a connected seating edge along the perimeter of the adjacent living spaces.
The roof forms are subtly sculptured forming a silhouette sympathetic to the undulation hills of the region. Warm natural materials acknowledge the colours and mood of the environment. Carefully managed apertures align to key view locations surrounding the homestead inviting the dramatic mountainous horizon into all the spaces.
