The client commissioned a new contemporary structure adjacent to the original historic office the purpose of which is to house the modern history of the company in a form that is complementary yet distinct. The simple striking structure comes to life when lit, a floating subtle form in keeping with its historic location within the Historical Village, yet providing cues as to the dynamic progressive nature of the company in the 21st century. The materiality is deliberately raw, with the hidden trap door invisible ready for events and the perforated backed polycarbonate panels appearing inert until enlivened during celebrations to acknowledge the rich history and another year of success.
