The Noosa River has an ever changing character and subtlety of reflected light. The River House is designed to manage all the rivers varied moods whilst maintaining strong connections. Privacy is carefully managed without compromising the view through the use of planters that bring the landscape of the Noosa region into the residence to enrich the adjacent rooms.

The active lifestyle of the residents is catered for with a series of flexible sliding screens and spaces and a robust uncomplicated material palette. The screens provide a connection to the history of the sites beach shacks and are an offset to the dynamic concrete forms.

A single northern open room overlooking the river is the centrepiece of the design. This room accommodates all the living spaces spanning the width of the block delivering a space that connects the house to all the value the river provides.
