Sally Johnston - Gallery Curator

Sally has over 15 years’ experience in the cultural sector. Working in Community and Cultural Development on a Local and State Government level and as Director of a Regional Gallery for many years, Sally has been fortunate enough to be involved in a diverse range of regional cultural heritage projects. Sally has enjoyed working in all areas from strategic planning to policy development right through to project implementation.

On moving home to Toowoomba, Sally began her own consulting business, Blockwork, continuing her passion for developing and supporting a cohesive, sustainable regional arts industry that cultivates quality and benefits the wider community. Working with councils, galleries, community groups and artists from as far up as Bundaberg out to St George and down to Goondiwindi has allowed her to gain a good understanding of the regional arts scene.

Enjoying the culture of collaboration, creativity and experience at Feather & Lawry, Sally is thrilled to be part of the team that promotes artists and informs audiences by delivering a dynamic and diverse program through Feather & Lawry Gallery.
