It is a truly fabulous feeling to design an award winning home for clients. Thanks to Dave and Paula McDonald for trusting in us to bring their vision to life and congratulations to Schriek Building group for an awesome job in bringing our ideas to fruition in such a professional and high quality way!
The home won the Darling Downs Master Builders Award for Individual Home $1.26 - $2 million and Best Use of Steel Frame Housing in July and went on to win in the same categories for Queensland in October. The project will now go to the Australian Master Builders Awards which will be held on 25 November in Hobart.
Publicity for the award included a segment on WIN News and an article in the Australian. Photo gallery of the project - Master Builders Award $1.26-2million award winner
Inspired by the prefabricated German Huf Haus we designed the home’s exposed engineered steel structure with a light and airy spaciousness in mind. Creating a sense of connectedness with the surrounding towering gums to enable the owners to live the ‘Alpine Retreat’ dream daily with the benefit of practical usability.
The design for this project began in 2014 with the home being completed last month. Our role in the project included full Architectural and Interior Service from Concept Stage to Documentation and Project Administration. We are now assisting the client with the procurement of window treatments and furniture items.
